To support the improvement of teaching and learning with a view to establish coherent, attainable outcomes that reflect the community vision for education

  • A belief that student achievement in possible for every student

  • An understanding of the value of school in strengthening a community

  • An ability to analyze data or know what it can provide

  • An ability to be a critical thinker

  • The need to be in it for students, not yourself

  • The ability to be a team player

  • The ability to listen and find common ground

  • Develops awareness of the student learning needs and builds commitment to systemically address these needs

  • Applies pressure for accountability and urgency 

  • Demonstrates commitment to learning and innovation by setting clear and high expectations

  • Supports and connects with districtwide leadership

  • Participates in a deliberative policy development process

  • Connects with the community and builds the public will to improve achievement
