KEY VISIONS

Post Pandemic District Vision

My Beliefs

  • We must have a clear, compelling, and energized vision for 2021-2022 and beyond.  We need detailed plans for “now”, while also making plans that address the needs of our learners one year, three years, and five years from now.

  • We must think of creative, new, and different ways to safely reopen and stay open

  • “In order to return our children and youth to in-person learning, we must use data, science, and transparency to build trust with and among school districts, schools, parents, educators, and staff.”  (from Roadmap to In-Person Learning, distributed by Colorado Governor Jared Polis)

My Ideas

  • The district needs to work with a curriculum specialist to design curriculum maps and pacing guides that address learning loss.

  • The district needs to simultaneously measure the impact of the past year on students’ social emotional health and executive functioning skills to come up with a plan to address both in the coming year

  • The district needs to meet with all staff and truly listen to their concerns, needs, and ideas when it comes to the fall of 2021.  We know this year has been unique for students; we need to fully hear how this year has impacted staff and what we can do to set them up for success next year.
